OUR INTEGRITY
At Namaste Solar, we’re proud to say
that we live with the technology we sell and that we lead
ecologically conscious lifestyles. From xeriscaped yards to bicycle
commutes, we continuously strive to “walk our talk” and set a
positive example for our community, both locally and globally. We are very
proud to announce that Namaste Solar Electric won the Eco-Cycle 3rd Annual
Zero Waste Business Award in the category of Outstanding Recycling Program
- Small Business 2006.
Our office building in downtown Boulder is 100% wind and solar-powered and features a drought-tolerant,
xeriscaped garden. Although we commute and conduct business on bicycles
wherever possible, we purchase extra wind energy credits on an annual basis to offset our emissions from vehicle use.
In addition, our installation van is run from biodiesel and our company car is a Prius.
All of our office furniture and carpet is second-hand, which is one step better than recycling. We use
carpet tiles for our flooring that allows us to replace only those tiles that are worn instead of replacing the whole carpet,
thereby reducing the amount of carpet waste that gets sent to landfills. We are partnered with
Eco-Cycle
and
Western Disposal to
divert as much material as possible from landfills into recycling. In addition to composting our kitchen waste, we recycle
comingled waste, office paper, cardboard, plastic bags and shrink wrap, block foam, computers and office equipment, scrap metal,
scrap wood, and pallets. As new markets become available, we will divert more material until we reach our zero waste goal!
We're very excited about our green lifestyles both at home
and at the office and we invite you to come visit us at any time!!!

industry and dedicate his life to implementing renewable energy technologies throughout the world. He then moved to Asia where
he accepted a position as the Engineering and Service Manager at Lotus Energy, a Nepal-based renewable energy company. As one of
the top officers in the company, Blake gained a sharp understanding of small business management and excelled at designing and
installing renewable energy systems for harsh, remote environments. After 3 years in Nepal, he recently returned to the USA in
early 2005 to co-found Namaste Solar and implement solar PV projects in Colorado. Blake holds a BE in Civil Engineering from
Vanderbilt University, is certified in solar PV installation by NABCEP and CoSEIA, and serves as a Board member for CoSEIA.
